Pumpkin Patch

Today Ann Hagan and I volunteered at our church's annual pumpkin patch. We worked the 10-1 shift which I assumed would be pretty slow. We actually sold about 20 pumpkins believe it or not. It has to be because Ann Hagan is just so darn cute (wink wink!). It was alot of fun but a tad chilly (45 degrees). When we were not busy selling pumpkins, we sat in the car with the heat blasting. I did bundle the precious baby up but I had to shed some layers just for a picture and to show off the first dress I smocked. As soon as the photo shoot was over we put the hat and blanket back on. Thanks to Tanna for saving me with a pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks...yum!

Also, congratulations to my cousins, Carter and Leah, on the birth of their son, Samuel Parker (Sam) Speed. He was born this morning at 10:19am and was 9lbs 7oz 21in. Luckily he was delivered via C section. Mother and Baby are doing well!

Little Goblins

I have been waiting for a month to post this blog. My friend, Kathryn, had the cutest Halloween play date yesterday. She had pumpkin shaped cookies to decorate, "putrid punch", ghosts to color, stickers galore and more. The children were all dressed up in the most adorable costumes but the best part was watching everyone trying to get 9 kids (ages 4 months-4 years) to sit still long enough to take their picture. I would say this play date was partly for the children but mostly for the moms. Check out what we got.

Sip and See

We're in luck...Ann Hagan is a great traveler. I must be crazy but I decided to drive down to my hometown Meridian, MS to see my family. It seems I was in charge of bringing the guest of honor down for a Sip and See my mom was hosting. We had so much fun catching up and showing off "Miss Priss". The only thing I am upset about is that we didn't seem to get any pictures with my sister or my mom. They had a blast playing with Ann Hagan and were so sweet to let me relax. Check out the pictures from our weekend.

Great Uncle Gene Wood

Ann Hagan had to model her new hat for everyone!

Mrs. Mary Alpha was my dance teacher for 15 years

Molly and Mary Emerson (5 1/2 months)- Molly lived down the street while we were growing up. We were BEST FRIENDS and got into lots of trouble!!!

Bryce and Ella Katherine (16 months)- Bryce is one of my best friends from high school.

We were also able to spend some time with my dad on Sunday morning over brunch.

Great Fall Weekend

We spent this weekend doing all kinds of fun fall things. First, we went down to Centennial Park in Nashville on Friday afternoon. We strolled around, enjoyed the weather and learned about TN history. I had never been there- pretty interesting. It is a park that the State Capital overlooks. There is a wall that has all kinds of facts about TN over the past 200 years when TN became a state (1796). Also, it is right beside the Farmer's Market, which we love. After that, we went downtown and ate dinner on the patio at Big River Brewery - yum!

On Saturday morning, Annie and I played and went for a walk while Wes played some golf with his weekend 8-some. Then, we picked up a pizza and headed over to Mark and Jill's house to watch the Ole Miss v. Alabama game. Even though we lost, we had a great time eating, drinking, and being merry on their deck. Sort of like college but with a slightly younger crowd!

Yes Jill is holding a baby and Mark is playing with a little girl...No they are not theirs!

Sunday, we slept in. Wes and I have both been a little under the weather so we thought the rest might be nice. After lunch we tried to go to Portland, TN to the pumpkin patch/farm. We got out, took a couple of pictures, saw the animals, peeked at the mazes (but did not go in!) and then decided we didn't feel like waiting 30 more minutes for the hay ride to come back around to see the big pumpkin patch, so we left. We're terrrible. At least it was a perfect day for a nice drive in the country.

Is there even a point to the swaddle anymore???

PS: Here are the adorable pictures we took last week. I can't resist posting.

Arranged Marriage?

So we woke up at 4:30am to head to Oxford for Ole Miss Homecoming. Getting everyone ready was a challenge but we made it out the door at 5:45. Then, we headed back at 6:00 to get the stroller that we left. As usual, Wes didn't really pack anything useful in his bag. At least we got almost everything for Annie in her new suitcase!

We finally made it to Oxford and spent the day groving at our normal spot with our best friends. We were able to see several of our friends and family. Beth just got engaged to Clint and her ring is GORGEOUS!

My mom was there and was able to spend some time shopping with us in Memphis on Monday while Wes worked.

Most important of all, Bryce and Ann Hagan got to meet for the first time. Bryce is the 16 month old precious little boy of our best friends, Danny and Jessi. Yes, they are arranged to be married after they graduate from Ole Miss. We spent Saturday night at their new home in Tupelo. We had a blast cooking out and "kickin' it old school"!

Annie doesn't look so sure about the arranged marriage bit

Bryce even let Annie sit in his grove chair

It was definitely true love as they watched cartoons together

And yes, Bryce does have a busted lip. He did that on Sunday morning. He was fine after about 15 minutes and back to playing in no time!

Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'

So for about 2 weeks now Ann Hagan has been trying to roll over. She will grab onto her toys as leverage but can't quite make it over. Today we went up to Daddy's office to have a cup of coffee with the ladys. I put her on a blanket on the floor and what do you know...she finally rolled over. Wes had turned his back for a second but at least he got to see the finished product. Now we can't get her to do it again. I bet the sequel will be out soon!
